BRussells Tribunal

Das "BRussells Tribunal" sieht sich
in der Tradition der Russell-Tribunale und ist als
Untersuchungskommission, ähnlich einer parlamentarischen Anhörung,
konzipiert. Ziel ist es eine Gegenöffentlichkeit zur
menschenrechtsverletzenden und internationales Recht brechenden
US-Hegemonialpolitik bezüglich Iraks zu schaffen. Das
Brussells Tribunal war ursprünglich ein Gremium von Wissenschaftlern,
Intellektuellen und Künstler, gegründet 1967 um Kriegsverbrechen
während des Vietnam-Krieges zu untersuchen.
2003 in Brüssel,
beschloss das Brussells Tribunal, dass eine Reihe von Anhörungen zum
Irak Krieg an verschiedenen Orten auf der ganzen Welt stattfinden
sollten, mit einer letzten Sitzung in Istanbul als Abschluss. Die
Bertrand Russell Peace Foundation akzeptiert, die Initiative zu
unterstützen.
